Rosacea

Rosacea which is also referred to as adult acne is a chronic or long term skin condition characterized by redness and pimples on the nose cheeks, chin and the fore head it can also present with burning and soreness in the eyes and eyelid and not unless it affects the eyes it is typically a harmless cosmetic condition but can worsen if not treated.
There is no certain cause of rosacea but it is believed to run in families although its not a hereditary condition and it mostly affects people with fair skin.The presenting symptom of this condition include dry red irritated eyes, the eyelids may appear red and swollen and this may blur vision, without medical intervention this can lead to serious eye problems. It also presents with tiny red veins on the face that resemble a spider webs, Burning of stinging facial skin especial on application of lotion or certain medicines this might cause an increasingly dry, sensitive or sunburned skin. pimples and bumps on and around the cheeks, nose mouth and forehead sometimes presenting with flushing which can last for a number of days, Acne and a swollen nose.
rosacea has a number of treatment methods and this usually vary on the extent and severity of the condition.Although there is no cure for it the treatment is aimed at preventing it from getting worse. The treatment include surgery to improve the skin appearance in cases of advanced rosacea, application of antibiotic creams to treat the redness and pimples, antibiotic pills may also be used to treat the eye problems,but this treatment is not recommended to pregnant women. There might be some time before improvement starts to be notable so be patience is required. Lastly in case of failure by antibiotics stronger medications like tretinoin cream or Retin A can be administered and this is also not recommended for use in pregnant women
